Introduction of Vietnamese art exhibition “Memory land” of Vu Dinh Luong
After the “From the village to the street” exhibition, artist Vu Dinh Luong presented “Memory land” as the 2nd solo exhibition. With the author’s memories of the land, the beautiful nature has been turned into artworks of watercolor paintings, lacquer paintings.
The lacquer paintings displayed in the exhibition are impressive for their depiction of Vietnam and its people. The exhibition displays paintings of young women, lotus flowers, landscapes, religions, activities, and other subjects in a diverse range of colours and hues. The artists create and explore lacquer in a variety of ways in each artwork. The visual stories that the artist tells are quite diverse in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional settings.
In spite of the fact that the material remains the same, the artist has achieved different outcomes. The light can transform into a spacious area or a garment made from shell material in order to accomplish this. The author has worked hard to perceive and transform materials into a variety of qualities and facets.
The author’s watercolor and lacquer paintings are opposite in nature and are therefore incredibly accepted. A watercolor painting is gentle and inclusive, while a lacquer painting is firm and powerful. During the grinding process for a hard lacquer painting of a carpentry work, watercolors fly and swirl beneath a lacquer water layer. The paintings result in layers and layers of lacquer, producing stunning artworks.
The author wants people to see his 2nd exhibition like ” From the village to the street “. After 4 years, he has returned.
