Painter Nguyen Hang was born in a village in Tan Linh commune, Ba Vi district, Hanoi city. From early age, she was captivated by art and took part in many drawing activities in school. As a result, she majored in art and later became an art teacher. To pursue her vision of painting, she chose to study art.
Painter Nguyen Hang paints in the manner of a realist using oil paints. Her work is frequently drawn on familiar Vietnamese village motifs, as well as her favorites. These subjects include lotus, lily, peach blossom, etc. She also enjoys drawing about spring, harvest, and natural scenery from her native land.
The artist said that she also loves to look at flowers in real life, just like her paintings. The artist hopes to hold a solo exhibition of her works in the near future.
In the paintings of Nguyen Hang, the artist portrays the vitality of spring, the tranquility of the scene in vibrant colours. The paintings are usually accented by warm colours, bringing the viewer into a cheerful mood regardless of whether the work is a still life or a nature scene.
